Car sitting about 1" low on Right Rear

I noticed this about a month ago, but wrote it off as the angle the car was sitting. BUT, I've checked on other level surfaces and the car is still sitting about an inch or so lower on only the RIGHT REAR corner. There is no excess weight in the vehicle.

I couldn't notice any visible signs of damage to the (stock) suspension. Is there something other than shocks/springs that is likely to cause this? Pics are below. Thanks!

well... i suppose it could be a piece of white dwarf matter has been splashed up into the wheel well and attached itself there.

or... maybe its the tire is bigger. switch sides with the wheels and see if the lean swaps sides

it is leaning right? you actually measured from like the ground up to the top of the wheel well?

You know......If it is your OEM shocks/springs...I know an awesome chick who is selling her entire set for $200 OBO...*cough*

Well Zoom, I removed the white dwarf matter yesterday and decided against the larger right rear tire just because of the upcoming winter months.

That said, yes, the right wheel well is 1-3/8" lower than the left.
Right - 26.125"
Left - 27.5"

I'm guessing this is shocks/springs. May be time to order some Tein Basic Coilovers...

And Sheena, I'll keep those in mind if I decide against Teins.

lol...I would never decide to go with OEM over Teins...so no pressure...I'm just trying to get rid of these suckers.

Defective shock or spring, or both.

Bladecutter 11-12-2011 01:00 PM

1+ on the possibility of a blown shock.

If you have ramps, put the rear of the car up on them, and look at the shock bodies to see if you can spot leaked out oil on that side. Usually will attract lots of road grime, too.

Plus, you can also look around for damage to the spring, or ball joints while under there.

You want to fix the issue quickly before it causes excessive wear to the other parts that are under there.

BC.

I took mine into the shop for a broken brake bolt and also my right rear was lower/leaning. it ended up being the stabilizer bar control link was broken, so $60 for parts and labor my car is now level again.
I too could not see what was broken when checking for it so it may be in a weird spot for your car too.
