Car pulls left under acceleration @ highway speeds after new Tires installed

I have a 07 MT with 16k miles. I just had the stock tires replaced with a set of 4 Potenza RE960AS Pole Position's (stock size).

I only have about 70 miles on the new tires....but I just noticed the car will pull to the left when accelerating from say 55-70 on the highway. I tested this by keeping the speed constant at 55 in 5th gear ...and hands off the wheel....the car tracks perfectly straight... then floor the gas and the car will feel like it has a rudder and it will start turning left (it feels like the turning is coming from the rear). Once I take my foot off the gas it will pull back to the right for a second...then track straight again.

There are no vibrations, or any other issues I have noticed...so I don't think it’s a balance issue. I've never hit any potholes or anything like that to knock off the alignment. I have never noticed this before I had the new tires installed.

Anyone have any thoughts?

[edit] I just checked the tire pressure...and they are all between 31 and 33 (cold)

You've probably had this alignment issue for some time, but the old tires were worn into it to the point it was unnoticeable. Now with new sneakers it's prominent.

Always get an alignment when getting new tires. Heck, it's only about $50 even at the dealers and many of the better tire shops will do it for low/no cost when buying tires from them.

Well...the problem was simple....at the tire store I checked to make sure the tires were the same MODEL ....but didn't even think to check the size.

The bastards put 225/40's on the left and 225/45's on the right!

I stopped by and told them they were mistaken, and I was NOT planning a visit to Indy this week...and would like all my tires the same size.

After the swap....all is well!

WOW just wow... Never go there again... sometimes the extra few $ a tire really is worth it.
