car just died
im crusing at 40mph and my car jut died
i am running straight pipe plugs wire and coils changed yesterday all the lights turn on car turns but wont start |
what kind of coils did you put on? are they secure?
|
Double check the ignition wire routing and make sure the correct coils are going to the correct plugs.
From the front of the car, the order is L1,T1,L2,T2. Check the eccentric shaft positioning sensor. Not sure why this would suddenly go bad, but it would cause your car to "die" while driving and prevent you from starting. Maybe disconnect the wire harness and clean the contacts. Might be a long shot, but worth a try. |
Check that your battery terminals are secure while you're under the hood.
|
its not the battery unless it normal for it to die while driving...i used oem coils and plugs....and the car light with key in midde is flashing sometimes does that mean anythng
|
If you lose your battery connection while driving, the car will die. The alternator charges the battery, but without a battery connection, the car would die.
BUT, I don't think its a battery connection. I do think something in the coil install became disconnected. Just make sure everything is on real tight with coils, plugs, and wires. E-Shaft sensor would make sense too, did you disconnect that during your install? |
how do u check to see e-shaft sensor is bad
|
Are you throwing any codes? was it running okay prior to it dieing? I have a code reader if you need it.
|
yea i could use it that would help

Engine Control System made up of lots of components including PCM, fuel pump relay, MAF sensor, ... |
Hey yesterday my car stalled/stopped accelerating on my way home. I have an 04 A/T that I keep up with to make sure it runs well all the time and to prevent major problems. Guess that didn't work out well. Here's the rundown; i was cruising at 45 mph in 3rd, went down to 2nd to move past the slower traffic, got up to 60 mph and it stopped accelerating. Switched back to auto drive and tried giving it gas and the check engine light began to flash. I coasted to a light area cause it was night out and when I got to a red light the car died and wouldn't start back up, still wont start. I got towed home and its sitting in my parking spot. I've been on here looking for possible leads, and at first the fuel system is one concern cause the car turns and turns but wont fire up. Now I come across this issue that a blown fuse for the engine control may have something to do with it. Should I check that first before crawling up under the car to check the fuel filter?? I'm going to have to do all I can before taking it to the dealership.
