car jerks really hard and sometimes just looses all power

ok, as tittle states the car will be operating properly then will kind of hessitate as i slowly accelerate then if i go WOT it will pull real hard but once it reaches a higher rpm ( no certain rpm) it just looses all power and the rpms drop to idle (and sometimes just cuts off)before it will rev or accelerate again. just feels like if i was driving and just turned the key off. but after a while on very easy driving it will stop and i can rev to redline without a problem, it has been like this ever since i moved to FL from WV ........car is very well maintained oil changed every 2000 to 2500 miles, spark plugs are less than 2300 miles old coils are the same age, 93 octane used ever since the car was purchased with 40000 miles, 95000 miles on the car now, CAI, no cat, driven 60/40 hard/casual.......anybody have any ideas?

have you tried removing the + battery terminal and all the resets sounds like the trims are all out of wack or front 02 is bad/ maf needs cleaned

jasonrxeight 03-29-2010 01:04 AM

probably the MAF is going

Sounds like its in limp mode and you need a new engine. Thats what my AT did when I lost the engine.
If you dont have a cat then its not clogged and thats ruled out.
If you changed the spark plugs wires and coils less than 30k miles thats ruled out.
Do you run the gas tank down to E? could be fuel pump.
Any CEL?
Compression test?

Just for fun, what other mods do you have on the engine?
