Bloody Lincoln Memorial

Scenario: 04 manual transmission 95k on the body, 65k on the engine. Like most 04s I was getting the false oil light at sustained freeway speeds but would disappear at lower RPM.

Recent modifications include SOHN adapter, ReMedy pressure regulator, Greddy oil pan.

Until yesterday the car was in winter storage. Fuel topped off 93 octane, stabilizer, coolant flush with FL-22 before putting it away, battery was removed and placed inside my condo.

Today I drove from Rhode Island to Virgina in 30-40 degree weather. Before starting my trip I checked the SOHN reservoir and crank case oil, both were topped off. On the trip I experienced the false oil light but this time it was over the full range of city to highway speeds. As before the light would disappear upon engaging the clutch and letting the RPM drop below 2k. With 757.3 miles on the car since installing the SOHN adapter best guess the reservoir is down .5 quarts. I cannot say for certain because I did not have the foresight to put levels on the tank.

From what I've read I believe it to either be a problem with the oil level sensor inside the crank case or the OMP injection ports may be reducing flow. Any insight is appreciated.

Which light were you getting? I've never heard the oil light described the way you do in the title. I HAVE heard the coolant level light described that way though.

Oh. I guess I've had that backwards this whole time. Stupid me. That makes sense now that the oil pan would not have gotten rid of that light. I have not replaced the coolant reservoir or the sensor as I tend to check that while checking the SOHN reservoir.

Yeah, just a common sensor failure if the coolant level is fine.
