Blinking CEL at High RPM
 

I went out for some spirited driving last night and the CEL would blink every time I get to 7.5 or 8k RPM. Got the codes pulled from Autozone this morning P0171, P0300, P0301, P2096.

I have approximately 92,000 miles on the engine. BHR coils and wires, NGK plugs were replaced around 80,000 miles. 5w30 oil change and coolant flush performed 500 miles ago. I just cleaned the MAF sensor on my AEM CAI along with the throttle body this past weekend. Also did the 20 brake stomp to reset ecu.

Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated.

P0107 - BARO sensor circuit low input

This is odd. Make sure it's plugged in. I forgot to plug this in once and my car wouldn't hold idle.

P0300 - Random misfire detected
P0301 - Front rotor misfire detected

Normally coils and plugs solve this.

P2096 - Target A/F feedback system too lean

Check for vacuum leaks.
Sounds like you've had stuff a part.
You may have not put it back together correctly

I cleaned the ess and checked all hoses and wires. Plugs still look good. Ordered an electronic ignition spark plug tester so I'll update once that comes in.

Yeah, the misfire thread linked above should help immensely. Based on your codes it's probably a vacuum leak somewhere (or maybe a failing part of the fuel system) and possibly the ignition system.

Went for a drive and the CEL didn't blink at 8k RPM. Hopefully the sensors being cleaned did the job. Also refitted and straightened the CAI.

Would there be an unusual smell coming from the exhaust or engine with a misfire?

In most cases it wouldn't be a noticeable smell, if there's heavy misfiring at low rpms you might get a fuel smell, otherwise if there's a smell it's pretty likely that the catalyst has failed.

Ignition spark plug tester came in and the rear coils show sparks. However, when I tested coil and wire for the lower front rotor the car didn't start but there were sparks. Tested the top front rotor coil and wire and there were no sparks.

Never heard of BHR coils failing so I'll contact Charles tomorrow morning. If it's not the coils then it would be the wire but I'm not sure how to test them. I also know that it could be the coils harness giving me problems but they look fine to me.

Any thoughts?

The Rear coils don't fire while cranking.
