bleeding master cylinder help

Hey everyone,

Just changed brake pads and rotors and while bleeding I stupidly allowed air into the master cylinder...i know i know. really stupid mistake. Anyways, I tried bleeding the MC many times to no avail. The pedal is still not quite as stiff as it used to be and the braking fades after 5-10 good, hard brakes. What to do?! That bleeder just doesn't seem to want to spit out that air and i've checked all the calipers many times.

One thing to note is that when pressurizing the brake system to then bleed I see the fluid in the reservoir splashing up towards the cap. Something I've never really looked for before having this problem but I'm assuming it's a sign that air is still in the system.

Any suggestions? Just don't want to bench bleed the MC.

I think your going to have to bench bleed, you can do it while it's on the car, just need to disconnect the lines and get some nipples that will fit in place and some long tubes. Or your seal are gone, how bad was the fluid?

Get a lot of rags...and do the same thing with the brake lines exiting the master as you do with a bleed nipple......CAREFULLY :)

I gave bleeding the brakes and the MC a couple more tries and it's definitely feeling a lot better but still not where it needs to be. maybe if i continue to bleed the snot out of the MC i'll finally get the air out. Yes?

I might try again when I get more brake fluid and report back. Nothing worse than squishy brakes. Takes all the fun out of this car.
