So I installed my BHR midpipe and ignition today, and in the beginning it was running amazing, smooth rpms, the whole 9 yards but I drove it home and now its acting kind of sluggish..
Itll get real sluggish but then itll clear up and run back smooth.
Im not sure if its the ignition or the midpipe since I installed them at the same time. It had to be something I did wrong cause I know Charles makes good products.
I kind of felt like it was coming from the mid pipe, would it make it run sluggish like that?

I'd guess it's not the midpipe. It's just a open hole. Do you have any CEL's? My first guess would be the ignition ground. But check all the Spark plug wires and maybe pull the plugs and see if any of them look bad. When was the last time you changed plugs?

1. Check (and recheck) to make sure all plugs, coils and wires are installed to specs AND IN THE CORRECT POSITION.
2. Ensure the ground is actually grounded.
3. Make sure no hoses were accidentally removed in the engine bay (ie air box, etc)

So I checked all the wires and everything seems to be in place besides this one plug.. And I cant find where it went, could this one wire be making everything act up?http://i40.tinypic.com/21jdqvn.jpg

That goes to the AC compressor.

Okay so that wouldnt be making it run like shit.. Lol

I noticed on the BHR midpipe theres a gap where it connects to the exhaust. The side with the two nuts.. Is that a problem?

It's post O2 sensor, so generally it shouldn't cause a problem like this, but it could in theory at lower RPM and lower load. I'd say clean and reset the ESS, reset the fuel trims, close up that exhaust leak, and then see how things are.

Just guessing that the leak might be throwing off what the ECU sees as your AFR.

Does the ignition take time to like settle or whatever? Cause I just took a little trip to test it and it seems to be fine.

It's possible that your fuel trims were thrown out of wack during the installation process.

If you notice that issue appear within the next while, make sure everything is secure and cleaned up, then do a full reset of your car's memory.

Agreed, this could be an exhaust leak leading to rich running. I take it BHR included the gasket with the midpipe, and that you installed it at the front of the midpipe connecting to the manifold? Make sure there are no leaks at this join as this is obviously closest to the WBO2 sensor (on manifold).

Do you still have your coil set or midpipe? You should put either of these back on to identify whether its the coils or pipe causing the issue. Will cut your problem solving time in half.

Downstream does not monitor AFR, an exhaust leak post upstream will effect AFR

Pulsing could still have some impact on lambda readings as the sensor is pretty close to the join. More likely at lower RPM as RIWWP indicates. Just saying it's definitely worth checking the front join to be sure.

Yeah I put the gaskets on, its just not flush with the joining pipe.. Im not sure why. You can smell the exhaust in my car very good.. I imagine thats gotta be the exhaust leak. Gonna bring it to the muffler shop Saturday and see what they can do.
