BATTERY!! WHAT IS THE BEST BATTERY FOR MY RX8?? 2004 6spd
I need to replace my battery and i just wanted to get some suggestions. ASAP
thank you |
there is no such thing as "best", it all depends on what youre looking for out of a battery (cranking power? deep cycle? dry cell?) and what budget you're working with.
Where do you live? I ask because the colder climate areas usually prefer something with lots of cranking power for those cold winter mornings. I personally use an Optima Yellow Top but it's because I am running a lot of power out of it due to my stereo system. Some people here buy optima Red Tops. You could simply go with a Duralast Gold; I hear those are quite good. |
I live in clifton,nj. now should i get the 26 or 35
|
I went with the Optima Red Top 35. I live in NJ as well. Last winter my OEM battery my car started no matter how cold it was and it was -11 or colder on some days. So the Red Top should make starting easier during the cold winter months

^agree

DieHard Platinum from Sears is what I'm running. It's deep cycle and has a lot of cca... great warranty too.
|
Im running duralast gold tops in both of my vehicles and they work great
|
Do you want to pay a premium
if not, just get Autozone's Duralast Gold, 3 yr warranty (Assume it does not go out of buz in 3 yrs) and 84 months (I think) prorate after if u want the best cranking and/or you have a lot of speakers and shit, u might want a deep cycle battery like Die Hard or Optima (I think its made by the same company? or was it diff) and get Group 35 Battery |
Anything with a 3 year free replacement.
|
Sears Diehard Platinum (assured high CCA and longevity, but pricey)
Optima RedTop (or YellowTop if 'deep cycle' needed for aftermarket audio components). Interstate (the OEM has served me very well). |
thanks guys for now i went with the Duralast Gold, in the future ill get the optima bc i plan on installing a system..

My point was though that the Everstart Maxx's are the same batteries as the Duralast, Kirkland, and Interstates (I think).
Same idea as buying Matrix and an Avalon. Both made by Toyota. one will rattle as fuck the other will be super quiet. same ole' rule : You get what you paid for. |
indeed you do.
