Battery disconnection

i disconnected my battery yesterday for about 30 seconds. today when i started the engine, it had an unusually low idle after it had warmed up. (around 700 rpms). the dsc light also started flashing and would not respond to it's button being pressed. this went on for a few minutes while driving until for some reason it just decided to work. the engine actually died a few minutes later while engauging 1st gear from a stand still. the weather's been consistantly in the 40's recently too and hasn't majorly changed recently. later today the engine was running fine, idle back to normal again.

does disconnecting the battery cause the ecu to reset? does it have to be driven for awhile so it can relearn the air/fuel ratios? i had no previous tune on the car and the engine is all stock. could this possibly be a result of having unhooked the battery briefly? i've had to do it before and never noticed anything.

Relearn its fuel trim... yes

Yes, though usually the car wouldn't stall while relearning its trim.
Might be signs that your spark plugs (or other ignition components) are going out.
When was the last time you replaced them?

bought the car used w/ 32k. now has 40k. i'm assuming the coils and plugs are factory original. i plan on replacing them as soon as i can because i think i've read that it's a good idea when you get to around the mileage i've got. but, the car's been running good since and the engine makes good power. of course, the fuel economy could always be better.:dunno:
