Battery or alternator or something

Well, you guys can probably guess from the title what my problem is. But I figure I'd give a few more details to see if anything seems odd. Basically I drove to school today, parked and went to class. Was gone for no more than 2 hours and when I got back, the battery was dead. I got a jump and the car started. Everything ran fine, but when it first started the DCS, traction control and CEL were on, but I assumed it might have just been a side effect of jumping the car when starting. I drove around for a little bit (not hard, but sufficient, since I wasnt sure if there was a problem or not). I figured I'd know if something was wrong the next time I started the car seeing as the CEL should go off if everything was fine. Well, I went back about an hour after parking again and car wouldnt start. So my best guess is the battery wont hold a charge or the alternator isnt working? Taking it in tomorrow to find out but figured I'd collect a few ideas first.

My bet...... It's the battery..

We need more details. How old is car? Orginal batteries in 04 - 05 are too small.

They have a battery one now in newer cars.

well, took it in and they replaced the battery. Found out the previous owner didnt have the stock battery in there when I bought it, but it's worked fine for about 15,000 miles. I thought I made another post last night but it didnt post or something. basically what I said was that I gave a friend a jump a few times last week, but not sure if that had anything to do with it. My car's an 04, but seeing as the battery was a different brand, the year probably didnt matter.

so were the lights that came on when I jumped the car normal? I'm sure if they are, there's a good reason, but just wasnt sure.

you will see the DSC and TSC light everytime you unplug your battery cable (or battery is dead)

Nothing major, just the way this car works.
