BAD DEALER. not sure what to do..

I just got my car out of the shop today. It was in for loss of power and stalling. I thought catalytic converter and so has a lot of other members on this forum. The dealer doesn't think so though. They said my air intake wasn't assembled correctly. So they charged me for it, I paid and less than 2 hours later I still have the problem.

My real question is that...Does anyone have a link to somewhere that has details of the Federal Emissions Warranty?

Sorry I didn't search for it first.

Escalate your problem to the regional rep if your problem still exists and can be recreated you will have no problem getting it repaired, other then the necessary legwork/phone calls to get the attention you need.

Thanks teknics,

I called the dealer after i rediscovered the problem. They are still charging me for the work that they did but I'm taking it back after the weekend. They are doing more diagnostics free of charge but I'm worried that whatever the problem is it is going to cost a lot more than originally intended since I made the trip to pick it up (just over 100 miles) and used the gas. Now that shouldn't be a big deal but i'm real short on money and I can already tell that the dealer really doesn't want to have to do warranty work. I still have a feeling that its part of my emissions system that is causing the problem.

A regional rep may be the way to go.

well they cant do anything that requires you to pay without your prior approval and at least a spoken estimate. Wait to see what they determine, if they try to get you to buy something post about it on here before agreeing and we can help you determine if it is a possible solution or if theyre going to try to rob you.

Be polite. They have they customers interest at heart.

They got you out of the shop at the least cost.

Sometimes this doesn't work. They need to inspect the cat.

When they find out what the real problem is.... insist upon a credit for the first bill you paid. Why, they mis diagnosed

thanks teknics and razz,

i decided that since the car is still driveable currently and i have no cel that i'm just going to finish my trip and take it home. From there i plan on learning a lot more about the problem and as much as i can about the warranties. I want to know everything for the next time i take it in so i will realize when i am getting ripped off.

also i told them that i thought that at least part of my problem was the cat but from the way they made it sound they only fixed the codes that appeared on the scanner which was an intake code. they said there wasn't any cat codes so there was no need to inspect it. please correct me if i'm wrong because i don't know how a scanner works but doesn't it only come up with codes when there is a cel or such light on?
