RX-GR8 Zoom

I have had this problem since day one of owning this car. I don't know if the RX8 is missing a feature that other cars have or is mine broken?

To open my sunroof it is just a one touch process. To close it I must hold the button the entire time. Does anyone else have to do this or am I the only one?

Even my 2001 Celica closes with one push of the button.

I wonder if there is a way to make a mod for this?

It's a safety feature. Opening it one press is not a problem but the lawyers require a continuous press to close in case there's an obstruction like a waving hand or whatever.

Gotta protect the idiots from themselves in modern lowest-common-denominator 'merica yunno.

thats weird.... my 01 celica gt didnt have a sunroof that closed on one button press... i had to hold it down to close but one touch open worked fine.

Thats what I have an 01 Celica GT and it does close with just a push. Wierd!

Also our Denali did it as well as my wife's new Buick Enclave

Nissan Maxima, Chrysler Minivans, and Range Rovers also do it. It cant be a legal issue.

Mine is the same way i thought there was someone who created a mod for the one touch close on the sunroof might try searching.
