Yesterday I was driving my 04 rx8 and it shut off and wouldn't start. it was reading random misfire codes before this happened. so then i hauled it back to the garage. got plugs and coil packs this morning and proceeded to change them. all four plugs looked to be in bad shape when taken out but they weren't wet. so after changing the plugs and packs. it doesn't start. any input would be greatly appreciated!

by start what do you mean ... as in cranks but wont start? doesn't crank at all? etc....

if it died while driving I would try checking your fuel pump to see if it is dead.

well it cranks but won't turn over. fuel pump i did not consider. i smelled gas when i was trying to start it.

Fixed.

Sounds like it's flooded.

it seems like its getting fuel. thinking its a spark problem

Check the wire harness connections to the coils. Make sure of the correct harness to the correct coil and the same for the plug wires to the sparkplugs.

Look up a de-flood procedure and try that.

Front Rotor Leading, Front Rotor Trailing. Rear Rotor Trailing, Rear Rotor Leading. That's how my guy had them plugged in. Is this a catastrophe?
