Aftermarket O2 sensor or Stock O2 sensor?

OK guys recently my area it rained heavily and i don't know what i was thinking, but i went out with my 8 and ended up goin into a puddle. My car died in the puddle and i'm not too smart with cars so i tried to restart it again. I have an AEM Cold Air intake on my 8 and it probably sucked in water. I've researched about this for a while and the mazda dealer said it wouldn't run if water got in the engine, but some threads here said that water takes out the carbon in the engine. i think mysql said it in one of the threads about putting distilled water in his engine. Anyway my filter has had many days to dry but the check engine light is still on. i took it to autozone and mazda and both said its the O2 sensor before the cat. My question is if its better to buy another original O2 sensor from mazda or just buy one online. The one from the dealer is $304 and online on oxygensensorsforless.com its $100 for an aftermarket bosch one. I'm also thinking about getting an after market exhaust and a friend of mine told me that i will need to replace the 02 sensor with an aftermarket one anyway, but i'm not so sure. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. thanks

You can get sensor from Mazda for much less than 304.

Onlinemazdaparts.com

or get it from Mazmart, leave them a message (forum vendor here)

your whole post does not make sense..

are you claiming the puddle hydolocked your motor and the front o2 sensor failed?

yet you dont mention year and mileage? why.. did you read the owners manual?

do you know what a warranty is? glove box! look learn.

i've looked at the manual and read it over. The engine didn't hydrolock cuz its still working. my car is an 04 galaxy gray rx8 with 55,000 miles. i had an aem cold air installed. and everything was fine with the car, then the puddle thing happened. All i'm askin is if its better to just buy an aftermarket 02 sensor or if the original is best. the aftermarket is cheaper by about $200 and no splicing or anything is needed it says its a direct fit.

and yes its the front 02 sensor

Wow, I don't even know where to begin :banghead:

Considering the PCM relies on readings sent from the front O2 sensor to meter fuel properly, I would replace it with the OE.

it is covered under the 5 yr 60k mile warranty that was extended for the 04s and 05s..
