Advice - Ignition Coils

I have a 2004 RX-8, and about two years ago the catcon went on it. Turned out to be the ignition coils were the problem, but it was all covered under warranty so I wasn't too concerned. But, a year later (last year this time) the same thing happened, and again it was the ignition coils... So, now a year later I'm now driving around wondering if/when the ignition coils are going to fail again... Anyone else experience similar problems? Should I replace the ignition coils to be safe, or consider my experience coincidence? Hmmm...

Coils suck on this car as attested to by many forum members. Get the BHR yukon coils and then you don't have to worry about them failing anymore. https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/bhrs-ignition-system-offerings-145128/

our ignition coils are very prone to heat problems and I recommend they be changed every 20,000 - 25,000 miles

BHR Coils are coming soon.
I know I've said that before, but it's true.

If I were to replace my current coils with the Yukon's, should I also look at replacing the wires and plugs?

New custom cables come in the kit. The connector, on the coil end is different than the OEM. Replace plugs depending on their condition. You can get new plugs at Advanced Auto for about $80 per set. I believe BHR sells them for the same price and you can order them with the coil kit. As far as I know, this is the lowest price available on a set of plugs.
