Adjust engine idle?

I tried searching around on this, but it brought up a lot of stuff about engine failure. Basically I've read about some people having their idle adjusted so the car idles smoother. I notice when I first start my car and it's warming up, it idles around 1000 and is ultra smooth. After driving a bit though it idles around 750 and gets a little shakey. Anyway to keep it at around 900 or so? Didn't know if this was something that had to be done at a dealer or what.

Thanks.

You have to update/replace your idle maps in the ECU to adjust the idle. There are a few ways of doing this, but the easiest/cheapest is the Cobb AccessPORT.

However, what you are feeling is not the idle itself, but the effect from the idle point. If your car had spent it's life idling at 900rpm, it wouldn't be smooth any more, but 750rpm would be smooth.

Heat is also a good reason not to have a higher idle. We can already generate a ton of heat at 750rpm, increasing this should only be accompanied with improved cooling when the car is stationary. Like lower fan trigger temps, better flowing radiator, fan shrouding designed to maximize the fan's impact, etc...
