AC knob came out. Doesn't seem broken

Did you remove that from your car or is it new? You sure it's for the right generation RX-8?

It came off of my car. One day it just turned left more than it should but I can't get it to go back in.

I think there is an error between the knob and the seat of the car.

Haha I hope so. There isn't a piece inside where the knob goes that could have broke is there?

I've tried every direction and with more than enough force. Wtf could this be

I figured it out the piece inside is like unclipped behind or broken I reached in from the ashtray area and was able to get the knob on but it's definitely loose. As long as I got AC for now I'll figure it out later

Did you ever find a long term solution to this? Same thing happened to me.

If it's not quite as demolished as ^^, you can use a fuel injector grommet (in my case it came from a Toyota 4efte/5efe engine). It's exactly the right size, and has held that knob stem together for the last 10 years or so on my car.
