Why worry you have a 8yr 100K engine warranty...correct....and that starts when the car was first sold.

Just because I've put 4 engines in my car in the first 35,000 miles doesn't mean you have to worry.
You have warranty still so relax.

Have fun and drive it like you stole it. I have a very early 2004 build with 60k miles and she runs great. We have an 8yr 100k mile warranty so any major engine failure is covered under warranty.

Well, apparently when the oil cooler line rots away and you are welcomed to your car sitting in a puddle of oil, it is not covered, even tho it is a recall in EVERY other country they sell our cars in... They deemed that there isn't enough road salt being used in the US to warrant a recall.. Even those that live in the northeast, and travel to maine for the holidays (which alone is a trip in an rx8..... Not recommended) Encounter just as much road salt as they do in southern canada....
Just a heads up for any higher mileage (mine is 72K) in cold weather areas that use their RX's as daily drivers..
P.S. This has greatly reduced my desire to get a newer one in a couple years as this is a rather expensive repair to have the dealer do (1200$)
