2nd gear grind when cold after transmission fluid change
First just wanted to say that RX8club has been an AMAZING resource for helping me w\ my 8.
I bought my rx8 a few months ago and it now has 70k on it. I took it in for its 70k maintenance (oil change, tranny fluid flush/change, rear diff change). Before this the car had no problems shifting AT ALL. After having it serviced, the very next day when I went to drive it to work in the morning shifting from 1st to 2nd the tranny would grind and didn't want to shift into 2nd gear. After the car warmed up it wasn't any problem and shifted normally. Any Ideas on what causes this? I apologize in advance I have no idea what fluid they used in my car because I've taken it back to have them check it out on Monday so they can cold start it and see the issue themselves. After doing research here on the forums I'm wondering if they may have used the wrong transmission fluid? I noticed that there are 75W90 GL4 and GL5. From what I've read the GL4 is for the transmission and GL5 is for rear differential. could the problem be that they used GL5 and it's not good @ low temps? When I first bought the car, it used to grind at the 2nd gear shift. I have replaced the whole fluid with Divinol 75W90 GL4 and that problem has almost totally disappeared. It must have been the wrong / old oil in it.

I have an 07 with about 58k miles. I put in the Red Line stuff in the transmission and differential about a month ago. Its a little hard to shift when cold, especially from 1st to 2nd. But, once warmed up shifts fine. I guess that's just the way it is?
