2008 RX8 P2070 code

I know it's been mentioned before here on the forums, but they're mostly older Mazda models. Mine is a 2008 automatic that just had an oil change 2 weeks ago and the brakes replaced, as well as a tune-up and coils/wires changed in November. This car has 47000 miles, so it hasn't been too long.
I"ve looked up possible scenarios, but I just wanted an opinion of what it MIGHT be since I've never had this problem before. Could the valve really be stuck?

I don't redline this car at all and the dealership guy once told me I don't rough it enough. Also, it's kinda rough on idle sometimes (mainly with the AC). Could this just be build up?
Also, is this safe to drive 150 miles to a BETTER dealership, with mechanics i trust?

thanks.

Dealership guy is true. More than likely this is why your SSV is stuck.

Ulp. Is this car safe to drive 150 miles to a dedicated Mazda center or am I going to have to settle for the combo dealership mechanics here in town?
What does it take to unstick the SSV?

Does the car stall? How does it perform? Whether it is safe or not to drive the car depends on the symptoms you experience. To unstuck the SSV all you need to do is to clean it. There is a DIY here on the forum. Another possibility (I doubt though that this is your case) is that the solenoid has quit working. Where are you located? Maybe there are some other rx8 people in your area that could help you clean the SSV.

No, just a bit of vibration at idle and it's more pronounced only because some CD cases on the side doors rattle, but I put my hand on the dash and i don't feel it.

I'm in Laredo, TX so someone from San Antonio would need to help me. I'm a female (STEREOTYPING, COMMENCE!) and very inexperienced with this car.

How about looking at the regional subforums and try to see if there is anyone close to your area that could help you. A dealer might get very expensive as some of them suggest changing the whole intake manifold. No need to do this though. All you need is give your SSV a good clean.
