04 rx8 recalls and vib. at idle
Hi guys, new to the forum. New to the RX8 as well. Have done much research since buying my 04 a few weeks ago. I was at the dealer(same dealer i bought the car from) a week ago to get a new set of rubber they owed me and happen to ask about recalls. The service tech said there was one open recall which was a pcm flash and that they could do it in 20 minutes. Seems like they did not test anything, they flashed the pcm and I was gone. From what i've read, this recall involves some level of diagnosing/testing to insure a simple flash would be satisfactory, am I correct?
This car pulls hard 35-55k and seems to drop off up to redline, however i have had no starting issues even on the coldest days so far. And finally, at idle i can feel surging vibrations almost on a rhythmic cycle. You can feel it in the drivers seat, not sure if im being a little sensitive or if the motor mounts are shot. Anyways, thanks for any input. |

Hunting idle also can have many causes. Searches here and a little knowledge/experimentation will take you far :). |
