yes or no?

This question might sound stupid and pardon my ignorance but is there a difference between redlining while your parked compared to redlining while on drive. In other words, does both ways get rid of carbon build up. Yes or No? :uhh:

No. Redlining while parked is just wasting gas as there is nothing that's making the wheels move. You need to redline or go WOT so that the engine can blow out the carbon buildup as there is (Forget the word) that takes it out.

you really want to do it with load on the engine. So do it while moving.

It's a lot more fun

If you are just trying to get rid of the carbon buildup. I dont see why you cant redline it in neutral. Except that it it very easy to over rev the car while in neutral than under load. Just make sure you dont over do it.

If you do it while driving the engine is under far more load. It will use more fuel and more air --> more combustion --> higher temperatures. I can't say exactly how much, but the EGT's (exit gas temperatures) from revving it in neutral are probably nowhere close as hot as doing so under actual full-throttle acceleration.

Depending on how long you do it, redlining while not moving is very bad because there is no air flow across the radiator or oil coolers.
