Wobbly Front Wheels HELP PLS
 

While I was driving on a wet pavement I slammed on my brakes and it left like my front wheels( right wheel) were wobbling... then I drove back on base and I thought I had a flat tire. I dont think me slamming my brakes would cause a flat tire would it? What do I check to make sure everything is alright? Should I bring it to shop? Need help pls

since you got your aftermarket wheels, did you go back after a week and have them tightened, I know they recommend it.

did it feel wobbly under breaking only?

if so, its probably just crap on your rotors and should wear off after awhile

Sounds like the ABS just kicked in to me.....it's normal. Have you ever practiced emergency stops in your car before?

ABS will probably kick in a little bit earlier since you've fitted larger wheels and changed the unsprung weight.

it's for sure ABS if this "wobbling" sensation is under braking only, and not even more pronounced when you're turning the wheels or cruising.

Could the lug nuts be loose? So if it's just theh ABS I should be fine? How come after I braked too quick it felt diff? I drove it about 4 miles after that I thought I had the flat tire.

1.Possibly, but not the cause of what you're describing.
2.Yes, at least you know your ABS works.
3.Depends on what speed you were stopping from, what the road surface was like and how hard you applied presure to the brake pedal.

There is a lug nut spanner in your toolkit.....only takes a few minutes to check them. If they are loose, it will be really obvious. You can tighten them without jacking the car. I see you're in the military....just hustle some bloke out of the mess to give you a hand!

When the ABS activates, your brake pedal will pulse under foot very quickly. If you haven't practiced emergency stops, the feeling under foot will be very alien to you. You said you slammed the brakes while on wet pavement....this will certainly activate the anti-lock braking system (ABS). The ABS will release brake pressure if you lock-up your wheels to allow better steering response and shorter braking distances. It's the release of braking pressure that you feel underfoot through the pedal....it all happens five/ten times per second.

As to why it felt different on the drive home afterwards...I'd put that down to adrenaline, heightened heartrate and wide eyeballs! I bet if you jump in the thing and go for a short blat around the base now, it'll be fine.

You might be right cuz on my way back to base I felt every bumps and I got scared I thought the right front wheel was gonna run away or something lol How did you know I'm in the military?

When the ABS is working, it is like the car is falling apart...

"a lot of dings and a lot of dongs"

It is loud too...almost like driving over rough pavement.

i do emergency stops weekley some times from 30 mph and some times from 50 i use it just as a good way of prolongong any brake squeel and to make sure every thing is working.

and yes when the abs kicks in it is scary since weight is shifting but it makes it overall more stable. and ur feeling the abs im positive of that.
