Wife dented/scraped rear bumper....

:(

It only took her 3 months to hit something with this car. Prior History: (Front bumper on Saab 900s Convertible- Damaged, Camry front bumper damaged, 300zx Front bumper damaged, Ford Escort front and rear bumpers damaged..but not her fault, Integra Front bumper damage..not her fault)

She was at the ATM and decided she wanted to back out of the access way and drove the rear bumper into something like concrete. This dented/ broke the fiber glass rear bumper and scratched about a 5" x 4" section.....with a cracking and paint stripping grind. The black bottom(Around mufflers) section is fine and so is the rear fender on that side.

How much for a new bumper? and Yellow paint do you think?

I think the rear is plastic..not fiberglass. You can get them unpainted for about $330 or so.
If you can do a local pick up from a vendor on here you can get them for around $230

You could get the Mazdaspeed rear bumper. It comes painted.

Probably not your cheapest option, though.

I think most of the vendors carry the Mazdaspeed stuff.

I think shops generally can easily repair that kind of damage for MUCH CHEAPER than a new rear bumper. In my old cheapo car, I got a football size invagination (nice word, huh?) on the left rear corner, and a shop repaired and repainted (just the one spot was repainted, not the entire bumper) for less than $300. Yours would probably cost a little bit more since it's a better car and you'd probably want factory paint. My repair looked perfect and the BLACK paint interfaced quite well with the surrounding, which I don't know how they do that. Your damage seems to be to a fairly small area and it might not be worth getting a whole new bumper. However, maybe you would want the entire bumper repainted, which would cost more.

Getting it repainted will probably be your best option at this point, but based on your wife's history, I think sending her to driving school would be a savings in money. j/k ;)

Good excuse to get a kit.
