Front Lip/Splitter Rods??

Sometimes on magazines, I see some of the cars that have these two metal looking rods that stick out from the main front bumper and connects with the bottom lip spoiler/splitter. From my understanding, those rods holds the lip stationary so that it allows the car to have more downforce.

What are those rods called and where can I get some?

My front lip spoiler is sagging a bit (from the lack of double backing tape) and I figure that those can take care of the sagging issue as well as giving it a cool look. If not, I guess I'll just JB Weld it.

Are these the "rods" you're referring to? Do you have the optional front spoiler as seen on this image? I'm not certain, but I think these rods are a part of the optional front spoiler so if you don't have that option, perhaps you don't get the "rods".

I think he means these :

You are correct, you find these on race cars a lot, they help anchor the wing and keep it from bending/diping down under high loads (downforce). On a street car, they would be more for looks, but It might help with your sagging problem, hard to tell with out pics. It would be more for looks than anything else, but I hope it helps!

There is one place that sells them, you might be able to find a better price, try looking for : "Wind Splitter Support Rods"

KYLiquid: Yup....thanks! I couldn't think of the name for those things. But now I know...and knowing is half the battle :D

So I'm just deciding on whether I should go with this $40 piece or a small tube of JB Weld for $4....it's not like I'm going to swap out my front end anyway.

Both the rods and jb weld should work for you, it just depends if you want the look from those rods, the cost quite a bit more than the jb weld, but being they are just simple stainless steel rods, they cant wear out, and you could always sell them down the road.

Also you might be able to make your own from parts you can find at home depot, like some cable tensioner, threaded rod, various nuts/bolts, functionaly they would be the same....just and idea

They make the cable tensioners in many sizes, you could change the ends and make them work :

I like the look of the rods (first time I've seen them up close) so I ordered a pair. Heck, I might as well do both the rods and JB Weld for added durability.

Unfortunately, no...one was $50...but it didn't do too much for me. I guess it's all in the presentation...and whatever pic that your link had was good enough for me.
