What new parts would you install
OK I have gotten my money together my engine is going out for a rebuild at a Rotary Race shop here in NC . Atkins parts ..
We are upping the oil pressure during the rebuild Here is what I am thinking about replacing new going back in .. New omp lines New water pump . New Radiator ( already installed ) New hoses( Silcone )( blue) New water bottle New clutch pressure plate throw out bearing . Clean all sensors Possible new oil coolers .. Anything else recommended ?? What would you do ? |
New oil injectors, get your fuel injectors cleaned and flow tested (at or near 60psi), new pilot bearing, get your flywheel resurfaced, new coolant sensor, new MAF, new O2 sensors, clean your APV valves, new vacuum lines, new vacuum caps for the service ports on the LIM, new exhaust manifold gasket, nee intake manifold gasket, clean the threads of every bolt you use and use thread lock where applicable and use anti-sieze on all the intake manifold gaskets. Oh and a thermostat and new radiator and heater hoses.
|
And read the workshop manual and FSM. And if you take apart the APV's make sure you put it all back together properly and clock the APV gear the right way.
|
New actuators and solenoids?
|
MAF and Thermostat added to list new vac lines and caps added .
Of course all new gaskets ... |
Oh, and don't replace your oil coolers. take them to a rad shop to get sonic cleaned and then straighten the fins with flat tip tweezers, they have assortments of tweezers at Harbor Freight.

Don't quit your day job. |
It looks like 9k has you lined up. Do the entire clutch especially the pilot bearing. While you're in there id go with a ss clutch line. Its a major pita to do with the engine in.
|
Good idea , new clutch line .
|
I radiator fin comb works great straightening out fins ! Much easier than tweezers .
Thanks guys |
