What if ... Ignition Coil Connectors reversed?

Guys,

I just did upgraded ignition coils on my son's RX8. I believe we got it 100% correct. I know for sure I got the correct spark plugs and I got them installed in the correct holes. And I know for sure I got the correct spark plug wires on the correct spark plugs.

I also know for sure the correct connectors were connected to the correct front leading and trailing ignition coils.

When it came to the rear two connectors to their ignition coils, the space was tight and the connectors didn't seem to want to fall exactly like the position that had been in the first 15 years. However, we took our best most logical guess as to which connector to which ignition coil, and went with it. We at least had a 50-50 chance on getting that right. Maybe better than 50-50 since we connected what seemed like the correct connector based on how they were positioned and their length.

The result: The car runs smooth as butter, good power, good economy (relative to a Renesis). But my question is this ...

Say we had got the connectors for these rear rotor ignition coils reversed, and the leading plugs were firing at the timing from the trailing's, and vice-versa ... my assumption is that a) we would know that right away, b) it wouldn't run so smooth (at least), and c) the ECM would likely activate a misfire code, or some code, and activate the check engine light. However, I JUST DON'T KNOW THAT FACTUALLY. I'm only guessing.

Is there any chance the ignition coil connectors could be reversed and it not be so noticeable?

Thanks!

You could reverse them and see what happens, then revert if it's worse. Or you can check a wiring diagram and identify the right plug by wire colour. Usually miswired ignition manifests at idle.

Is it normal for a vehicle to run typically with switched loop extremity? Simply dabbling today and saw my focuses wire is going to the positive side of the curl, and my pink start wire is snared to the negative. How should the curl accuse appropriately of the hot wire snared to some unacceptable side?
