Ex wife in the passenger seat 160 lbs, new girlfriend 120 lbs.
I noticed almost immediately that both performance and fuel economy have improved, it is however a rather expensive mod.

So some quick search tips for the new guys. The search button above is worthless, but there is an advanced search button where you can norrow things down. It works well.
Another great feature is the search button located in each thread. That is how I spent 30 seconds and found the weight of the doors.
Lastly or for some people they use this as their first search option, use google. Type RX8 and enter your key words.

Just pulled the stock S2 suspension---36 lbs. Springs n shocks are both 18 front and rear.
Does anyone know when Mazda switched over from the little weak 21 lb battery to the current 37 lb heavy duty one?

So my Shinka model weighs like 3050lbs... Anyone know the weight of the self leveling head lights, heated seats, motor mechanism for the driver side seat, stock side skirts and splash guards?

They are made out of Cast Iron. Its not exactly light.
My CF hood weighs in just over 11lbs.
Now a more serious question is how much weight would we cut down if we removed the sun roof, and replaced it with a CF roof? I know seibon makes them. I have been thinking about this for a while, and I am really curious as to the weight savings by simply replacing the roof with a CF, keeping the headliner, and the map lights though.

The stock hood is very light, I didn't weigh it but I had it off recently for some painting. I don't think you are shedding anything significant with a carbon fiber hood in fact the oem hood might even weigh less.

Some more info while I remember. The stock front crash bar weighs 15LBS (already posted) but the center section is 10lbs while the 2 crash cans are 2.5lbs each.
Here is a picture of my new crash bar with a Grand Am tow hook and mounts for my splitter struts. Total weight 11.5lbs. Without the tow hook and splitter strut mounts the weight is 10lbs. My stock crash bar with 1 tow hook and splitter struts weighed 17.5lbs (heavy mounts). So I removed 6 pounds off the nose but more important for me, I opened up the area behind the black plastic piece on my mazdaspeed grill for air to flow to my intercooler and radiator.

haven't ever seen that, would be surprised if they are lighter and still rigid enough because the OE front fenders are pretty thin
you might try to talk to Downing Atlanta or Speedsource since they have the experience with the Mazdaspeed tube frame body work in both FG and CF materials
