Warranty on the replacement engine
On my third engine. What is the warranty on the replacement engine?

You should be the expert :lol2:

There are 2 possible warranties, and according to MNAO, it is up to the District Manager over each dealer to make the decision between these two:
A) Engine core warranty, 8 years 100,000 miles from date of first sale on the chassis. If this warranty applies, and you get the engine at 99,999 miles, you will be out of warranty coverage if the engine fails 1 mile later. B) Mazda parts and service warranty, 12 months 12,000 miles from installation. If this warranty applies then if you get the engine at 99,999 miles, you have 1 year of coverage, up to 101,999 miles on the chassis. Otherwise, there is no separate warranty issued for the engine core. You do not get a restarted or refreshed warranty. |

CEL's are never "covered under warranty". Never.
Because a CEL isn't a "fixable thing". The CEL is just an indication that the ECU detects something is amiss with the emissions monitoring of the car. That's it. If it's a loose gas cap that's causing the CEL, then there is no reasonable justification for the dealer to submit a warranty claim for "walking out and tightening the cap". If it's a CEL for misfires, then if the misfires are caused by a Mazda part installed by a Mazda dealer, then the part that is failing that is resulting in the misfires might be covered by the 12m 12,000 mile parts and labor warranty. Lots of possibilities for that CEL, and most of them have nothing to do with the engine core. |

BC. |
As per the MNAO customer service rep, Mazda does not have an official policy on that, it is up to the DM of each dealer to extend that or not.
If you pay out of pocket, yes, you would have it. |
i'd imagine if you had the engine installed under warranty at 99,999miles, and it failed at 100,000, they would warranty that, but yes its up to the District rep. this is where it helps to have a long service history.
