Warranty Question(s)

I have a 2004 RX8 with 42,000 miles on it. I have had it for about a little over a month. I recently ran into a problem with my Power Steering system (The light kept comming on and off on the dashboard and finally stayed on) So i took it in to the dealership and found out that the warranty that was on the car expired about a month ago. The problem was with a connector not the power steering rack. Just by doing some research i saw that the rack it self among other parts are pretty pricey. So i did some asking about purchasing a warranty and its around $1,000 for a 2 yr 24,000 and $1,500 for a 3 yr 36,000. Would it be worth it get it one of them? I got some mixed information from the dealership one lady saying it wouldnt be worth it and then obviously the guy trying to sell it telling me it would be. If anyone can leave some feedback on it, it would be much appreciated.

dont do it, get in touch with your local members and do installs yourself the car is easy to work on...

i had the same problem like 3 years ago,

solution- tale your airbox out and the panel that holds it, right under it and right above the radiator is your PS connector, youll see it right away, take it apart and clean it with some electronic cleaner ( you know keyboard duster) and put some anti seize on the little metal prongs and you should be fine...

the reason it happens is cus the connector is above the radiator and condensation builds up on the metal prongs on the inside, just clean it and you should be fine, any other questions just PM me

You can come over to my place and we can work on your car, we love meeting new people. Atilla, shadycrew, and Renesis SE3P (also known as GOD) is at my place hanging out and working on our cars right now.

yea this is my first rotary so im kind of "un-educated" on the majority of the car. But slowly but surely informing myself so i dont meet someone and look like a complete fool when talking to them.

Whatever you do, don't ever say that you have a V6 or something.

Come on out to the SoCal Beach Cruise next week. The thread is located in the West Section of the forum. :)
