Took apart the APV, not sure how to reset position

Hey all,

I removed the LIM for cleaning during my rebuild, and I took apart the APV system to clean it all out. Unfortunately I didn't know the motor was positioning it at the time (thought it was a 'dumb' system that had no position feedback). So I took the motor off the back, then removed the idler gear so I could move the shaft back and forth to get at the screws to remove the actual APV cylinders for cleaning. Now I need to put it back together but am unsure how to align it. I believe the shaft was all the way to one end, but I'm not sure about much else.

I have searched and seen that people say to put the white gear on the outside to the 1:00 position, then put the motor back in? What position is the rod in when the gear is at the 1:00 position?

Any help would be appreciated!

Perfect, thanks. Saw the first thread but I suppose I didn't read far enough down, or didn't understand.

To anyone else who finds this thread while searching the same thing (isn't that the worst?), my takeaway is that you need to position the rod such that the valves are closed, the outside wheel indexed to 1 o'clock (which should be almost at the end of its travel clockwise), then reassemble.
