tip for spring install

i didnt see this on any of the DIY topics, but i found the only tricky part of the spring install was aligning the top seat so the shock assembly will go back in the car correctly. if the spring is not uncompressed in just the right position, the alignment between the studs at the top of the shock assembly will not be rotated properly to let the bottom fit or be rebolted. unlike some other cars i have worked on, i could not find a way to rotate these parts with the spring uncompressed- this was a pain. i finally held the assembly up inside the wheelwell and eye-balled the alignment. i also reversed the spring compressors to make rotating the seat easier. be sure when you rotate the top, you are not unseating the spring in the lower perch.

i didnt not find it necessary to unbolt the sway bar- it tilts right out.

im going to check the toe setting, but dont thing the other alignment settings will change or matter much.

one last thing- has anyone noticed the top of the shock assembly is a rotor shape? :D

hth someone...
