atkins rotary branded nippon oem? hell of a lot cheaper than the mazda ones and atkins is a trustworthy name in the rotary market...

Yeah, I saw these too. The thing that interested me is that they are listed as "Nippon OEM". That is different than the filters which we can get here from US dealers. For those of us who did our first oil change ourselves, we (or at least I) noticed an interesting thing. The filter that was on the car stock from the factory was not the same filter that the dealer sold me to put on the car. It was a completely different animal that was slightly bigger, looked as if it had a different filter media, or at least a different assembly method, and it had a different part number. I was wondering if the filter that we are looking at from Atkins is the US standard, or if it is the filter that came on the car, or if it is a third variant.
However, I think that the only way to find out will be to contact Atkins and ask them directly. Interesting question though. |
