thermostat
I want to DIY and replace thermostat. below is what I researched to do this. is it the way to go? just checking for verification. Im not a wrench nubie but I want to go about it the right way.
thanks in advance. Juikster, Marble Falls Tx. Remove engine cover Remove strut bar Remove battery cover Disconnect the neg. battery cable Remove battery and box Remove the secondary air control valve, loosen up the water pump pulley installation bolt Position the drive belt out of the way Remove water pump pulley Then you will have full access to the thermostat. |
You pretty much got it... couple things missing like draining the coolant and removing the alternator bracket.
Follow my DIY for removing the SSV because its the same steps taken to reach the thermostat: http://www.vimeo.com/7093611 Obviously... in the video, once you get to the part where you remove the upper thermostat housing, you stop with that DIY and just lift the valve out. Removing the air pump and PCM wires is just to gain more room and make the job easier. |
Thanks Jon316. I started tearing it down and see what you mean. Thanks also TeamRX8 for enlightening me. my bad. hope I didnt touch a nerve.
Thanks again 316. Juikster |
