taillight vin differences for 2004 RX8?
 

Ok, I searched but didn't find anything.

I cracked the covers on my tails last weekend tying to get the water out (don't ask). So I check with a local salvage yard and they have two from a 2004- but per his computer they only work for vins ending with 126794 and up. Mine in between 120293 and 126794.

So what's the difference here? Mazda switched to a different taillight design midway through the 04 production year?

^none ... maybe just trim model differences... or maybe they are SHINKA and have polished instead of SILVER (inside)

I'm not 100% sure.
The lens are different, one of them has a darker red part.
(Just the round red part, the rest are same)

I notice this from the junk yard too.

however, both of them will fit.
