Strapping the RX-8 to a DynoJet

I have a question about strapping down an RX-8 to a Dyno. I took mine to a place that mostly works on Turbo Subaru’s; they have an above ground dynojet. The tech was concerned about the rear fishtailing during the run and the exhaust burning the straps. He was also wondering where to attach the straps to avoid damage. All of them complemented the design of the RX-8 rear suspension, but didn’t want to risk damaging it. It was getting late so I skipped the run and thought I would ask here. I know they have to cross them in an X pattern, but what part of the rear makes a safe mounting point for the car & the Dyno equipment?

I didn't strap down the rear on my car when I dyno'd it. :dunno: I think you're fine as long as you ease in to getting it rolling it shouldn't fish tail once you've got the wheels moving.

I strapped mine down and did catch the staps on fire/smoked them.

Tried to criss cross them under the car but it still got hot enough to burn them.

Dyno place didn't care though. I did have to clean up some coolant that overflowed though after the run.
