Storing your stock exhaust
I wasn't sure what forum to ask this questions, so Mods, please feel free to move thread if necessary.
I have the GReddy SP2 cat-back exhaust on, so my stock is just laying in my garage. Is there a proper way to prep and store it? I'd like for it to be in good shape if for any reason I had to put it back on. How do you guys prep and store your stock exhaust (to prevent rust and such)? Or any stock parts for that matter? |
I have no idea if what I do is the "right" way, but I stand it up vertically against the wall. I put a piece of pine beneath the tips for protection from scratches and stuff the three openings with steel wool so little critters don't find a new home and nest in the sound deadening material within. Keep it in the garage or shed away from water and you should be good to go.

Exhaust in use get rid of excess moisture, through, heat, evap, etc/ A stored exhaust can allow water to set, and corrode in time. I you seal top with duct tape, and stand on end (tips down/protected) You'll be fine.

You might also want to wipe it all down with WD40.
