Spark plugs

sup y'all, im juz wondering, how often you change your spark plugs?
and how would you know?

brown tips are normal, burnt needs to be replaced
i've changed mine every 10k, but that's on the excessive side.

My plugs/coils/wires are 65K old and running just fine. No misfires on the track, and no problems at high rpms.

Mazda recommend on a stock engine every 35K. You have to look at them to see how they are. Yes you can get more miles but...Don't wait to long they can fall apart and ruin the engine.

I had mine changed at 35K miles. I could tell that they were changed because the spare set was no longer in my glove box.

My front leading plug broke in half one day. It was then I figured it might be a good idea.

Why take the risk of all things that this can lead to?
I change at a maximum of 12k miles.

I had a trailing plug ceramic insulator go through an apex seal once; nice damage.
I now feel you can never change plugs too often...

If you are remotely comfortable working on cars then I say just do it yourself... Its really basic and there isn't a whole lot you can accidentally screw up just checking your spark plugs haha
