Shift boot keeps falling down...

i just got a diff shift **** for my 8 and now the shift boot doesnt meet up to the ****...you can see the shaft of the shifter and it looks bad imo.....how can i make it meet up with ****....i already tried velcro but it didnt work so well....thanks

How long?

Mine was way low until after about a week with my new ****; then the boot started rising to meet it...

got a picture?

there is a piece of fabric around the shift arm under the shift boot. you can probably feel it. i would say replace that with something longer. it will help keep the boot up.

If it's the stock boot my guess is the plastic clip at the top has snapped into several pieces and so is no longer able to ride the shifter and form a seal with the shift **** like it was previously designed to do.

that's what i said. put something under it to support it up. stock already had a piece of fabric under there.

stuff a couple of socks( clean ones by the way)in the inside of the boot to prop it up.
