rx8 warranty

If you have like 10k miles on the 8 and you never took it back to the dealer ship and another auto place chaged your oil and put Pennzoil Oil Filter on the car would that void my warranty? lol...B/c if so I will go to the dealership and confirm it and save up now for a turbo ....lol

As long as you have recepits for all oil changes, and followed the factory interval, it doesn't matter how or where you get your oil changed.

Just make sure to follow factory intervals, and use factory specifed oils. Log the changes, and keep the recepits!

Why would you take your car to a place that screwed up on your sister's car??

/shrug...Insurance covers it all so if they make the same mistake, which leaving double gaskets is common, but catching on fire is rare....If my does that then oh well they will pay for me a brand new car...lol..then I will prob. get a 6speed rx8 lmao

Dotson,

Without recepits, you never changed your oil. Any warranty question involving your engine without recepits proving the oil was changed results in instant warranty voidance.

Thats usually the first thing the dealer asks. "Oil change recepits?". So i suggest you contact the shady shop thats been doing your oil changes, and ask for recepit records, then store them in a folder somewhere. I'm sure the shop has records they can copy for you.

Case in question. Recently a tribute owner came into a Mazda shop with a destroyed engine. The dealership asked what happened, and the guy said the engine got really noisy, then just shut off. They asked for recepits, the guy had a single oil change recepit...that day. The vehicle had 38,000 miles on it, and when they pulled the drain plug, nothing came out...it was all a giant jello like mass.
