been running the midpipe for about 750 miles. Still no CEL light?!?! whats going on?

I didn't have a CEL with my midpipe for over 3 months, one day I turned my car on with one, but it went away about a week later..

 

^................yep, have heard that. Some are lucky. It will probably come on at some random point like Tubingchamp says.

 

Mine didn't show up for a while. When it does, it's there for a day then it's gone. It hapens when I drive hard. Maye u need to DRIVE ur car

 

I got a CEL for the first 4 days, 1,500 miles (holiday trip), but now I don't have a CEL any more, still midpipe, still no cat, still no AP (or anything else that could turn it off).

I have heard of quite a few people that can run a midpipe without getting a CEL, and without having to block it via AP or something else. Not sure what drives that.

 

no AP. I drive it hard everyday. well at about 7800 rpm (a/t)

 

We have a European spec 04 6mt with78,000 k's,I heard a a rattle which was like the cat had fallen apart and had a cel,so I removed the cat expecting bits of crap to fall out,I couldn't believe the cat was empty,I mean there was nothing inside the cat at all.I removed the rest of the stock exhaust thinking the internals of the cat had blown into the muffler,empty as well ! Did both resets,cel gone,that was 4000 k's ago and all is sweet.And it passed inspection this way,beats the crap outa me as why.

 

same here, the cat was completely empty.. Unless the material is between the cat housing and the resonator, where that bend is. The air smells clean as ever. Thats weird though

 

I'm like others, I don't have a CEL for the most part but it might show up for a day or two once a month. I have the RP midpipe with RB Race exhaust, 05AT driven hard.

uh oh.. spoke too soon. Driving late at night, and i hear rattling where the resonator is in my midpipe!! The rattles get louder and louder. Turns out the resonator is BROKEN after 1 month!!!! My engine must have had too much POWUH for that little midpipe. 5 Mintues later I got a CEL. lol. damn

Ill be sending the pipe back to Corksport I guess. what a bummer.

 

CS are really good guys and they will take care of you. Sucks you have to send it back though.

Yeah I figure it was just a bad pipe. All companies have a dud every now and then. That midpipe sounds good though. I had it on the stock catback and it was a beautiful noise.

 

UDPATE! wasnt a bad pipe. Plug came out of the wideband sensor hole. Fixed the problem and sounds great. unhooked the battery. Let see how long the CEL stays off this time
