Resetting E-Shaft Plate for exhaust install

Is it required to do the 20 brake pump (reset PCM, eshaft thingy) after an install of an aftermarket exhaust?

Better yet, do the "hold down the odometer reset while you turn the key to on without starting the motor and continue to hold until you see the word TEST and then repeat two more times" thing.

Then do the 30 stomps....:D

Never read about that one, what does that do?

It does a complete PCM reset without loosing your radio presets.

RX-Nut 12-24-2004 07:24 PM

Hmmm.. is this safe? Where will TEST appear?

Sorry, just skeptic since I havent read it before.. thanks!

MazdaManiac 12-24-2004 08:56 PM

The word "test" will appear in your odometer. It is a gauge cluster/ECU diagnostic mode.
If you do it three times in a row, it clears the entire PCM adaptive profile.

MazdaManiac, thanks for that tip. It must reset more than the brake stomp reset since I had a low power issue that was only able to be resolved with the test method (brake stomp didn't do squat)

I never did a stomp or any kind of reset after I installed my Greddy. Should I be worried? Car has been parked two weeks now at the heliport. I only drove it that day for several hours.??
