SO I have noob question for everyone out there. I just bought an RX8 last week. I keep reading how the engine on these crap out at about 100k miles. How would I go about getting mine replaced? Im in the mlitary and stationed in Germany and don't really know much about rotary engines or if they will cover it over here. Thanks.

Im sure ill get a lot of "search" replies but can't find anything taylored to that question.

 

first off, rotary engine does not "crap out" at around 100K miles. in fact a lot of rotary engine "crap out" at around 200K+ miles.

there is a lot of reason for early engine failure. and dont forget just because you saw a couple posts on an internet forum about their engine crapping out. the forum represents maybe 1/100 of the whole community. so the numbers are really low if not the same as piston engine. but since Rotary is "special", people just want to make a big f-ing deal outa it.

and no, Mazda Germany will not honor warranty claim like that.
