Renesis rotor housings

Hey guys I'm in need of a rebuild soon on my 04 rx8. Just coming up on 138k.

Starts kinda sketchy and will die out after a long drive if I don't keep my my foot on the gas. I had got a quote from a rotary shop around my area and theyre letting me know that the renesis rotor housings will need to be replaced cause of how they wear, They have had alot of 8s and the housings aren't reuseable so I'll need to buy new ones, any one been told this before? I wanna rebuild the motor myself since itll be cheaper but I don't know if I do need new housings or not.

Just wanna know if any of this sounds weird to any of you guys?

you should be replacing the housings, unless the engine is really low mileage or something.

the rotor housings are wear parts. think of it like a cylinder wall on a piston engine.

if you don't even know if you should replace the housings or not, I suggest you to let the guys at the shop to do the build for you.

only reason I asked is because other 13b rotor housings could be resurfaced and reused, I've seen it multiple times, I didn't know the characteristics of the renesis since its my first one and first rebuild, sorry for asking a stupid question?
