A/C recirculate and idle smoothness

this may be all in my head, but it seems like when I switch the A/C to recirculate the idle is less smooth than with the A/C pulling from the outside. Am I smoking crack? I can't see why that would matter as the compressor is engaged. Anyone else notice this?

I didn't know you needed to reset it, or that you could. I guess this is my "I'm with stupid" moment for the evening
