rebuild or reseal?

OK. Driving down the road, I hear a pop, then a few seconds later I start to see my rear view mirror showing nothing but extreme smoke. I managed a mole down the road and it stalled. Then I pushed into a Kroger, looked under and I see a giant puddle of oil. Took me 2 days to get the car towed I get it home and .Fill the oil back to level. And then crank it over, the motor was slow to crank then it idled right up and fine. Turned it off. Looked under and no puddle. ...

Repeated this a few days later and it would idle a few moments then die. Did seafoam, seemed to slightly help, car was getting hard to crank and decided it needed pulled.

Pulled the engine, turned the engine by hand and has compression matching on all faces, by hand. Passed the poor man's test. Motor has flywheel, clutch and bell housing covered in oil. Guessing it is the rear main seal.
I currently have the motor tore down to a keg. No manifolds, wires, bare block.

I would love to have it taken apart and freshened up, new side springs, corner springs, and a port. But I have never done a rotary so I'm kind of afraid.

Anyone near north GA ? With advice.

My advice would be to leave it alone and focus on tracing the source of the leak. As long as it has good compression, which I'm not sure if you've confirmed or just guesstimated. The problem with shadetree rebuilds is they may need another rebuild shortly after. If it has bad compression, you're better off buying a reputable rebuild.

Oil could also come from oil coolers, the OMP and other places. Try to narrow it down.

The oil was coming from the rest main seal,
