Quick Question *Urgent*

Just need some quick feedback from the RX8 community...

My steering wheel does not return to center from a full lock position at low speeds (1-2kph). My dealer is telling me that this is normal, perhaps because the car has been brought in 6 times for the same problem. Can some of you guys confirm whether this is true it not?

I have an appointment with the head of the dealership tomorrow and would like some feedback from actual RX8 owners

Much appreciated.

Direct answer: Not sure... does it work at higher speeds?
Have you or they checked alignment?

Alignent was done twice

and yes, steering wheel returns from full lock when going at higher speeds

I actually tried searching for any info on this but never came across anything... I suppose I'll continue to search unless someone woild be willing to post a direct link?

I'm not really sure if I understand what you are saying... I read that if you turn the wheel to full lock and travel at 1-2kph, the wheel never completely centers itself??

This is normal AFAIK. Power steering(electric in our case) only provides so much power(torque input), and it is simply not enough to overcome the great deal of friction/traction of tires rolling that slowly.

Yes paulmasoner, that is exactly what I'm saying.

If it is normal behaviour it's something completely new to me...
