question concerning homemade maf screen

I have seen on the forum where a few people have made their own homemade maf screen from regular screen wire that can be purchased at a Home Depo etc.
They claim it works just fine. Thats great. But I have a question.
How do they keep the wire from flexing?
Let me explain.
The air traveling through the intake is moving fast. I dont know the actual mph--i have seen some internet site research papers quoting over 400mph--i dont know about that---but my point is, no matter how tight you think you have that screen wire it is going to flex when the air speeds up and slows down . When it flex's it has to change the pattern of the air passing through it. So. shouldn't that an affect on the maf reading?
Perhaps that is having something to do with some tuning issues?
Now the oem mesh is much more rigid and honeycomb should have no issues--but homemade screens--i dont think those are a good idea?

I don't like the idea of a home made one, I removed (OEM net) it from my Nissan when I boosted it, while n/a I just left it there (N60 maf).

Also, ***just asking*** do you know the use of that net?

Imho if its bent it goes against it purpose.

if the screen flexes, then it isn't doing you any good from any perspective as that would show it is being restrictive instead of allowing constant flow. Same concept as mesh screens placed inside of faucets and garden hoses.

To me , homemade screen is the same as using ebay turbo kit ...
