Question about PCM Flash level (Yes i already searched)

Ok, first i did search for this, but maybe i suck at searching.

I was wondering how to tell what flash is the PCM on. I got the VIN number, and it doesnt fall in to the range of the TSB Bulliten.

VIN: M1FE17384013812

Just wondering how do I tell what flash it is on because I had a hard start today after moving it to wash it.

Also i notice a dip in power around 7k rpms.

Another thing is how do i tell what recall work has been performed.

Let me know

Thanks.

Mike

Why are you flooding your engine?

Go48 03-31-2006 06:02 AM

Call MNAO (800-222-5500), give them your VIN and ask your questions. Or go to MazdaUSA.com and send the tech guys an e-mail with the questions. Or go by a dealer and have them check. Or purchase a CANbus-compatible OBDII scanner and check it yourself. Lots of options. For the power loss, a dealer will have to check it out.

And don't shut the car off cold, regardless of which update your PCM is on.

Ya shutting it off was before I knew about the flooding problem...:(

Anyways thanks for the info ill check it out!

Fiveohmike 04-01-2006 06:47 AM

I dunno yet. I emailed Mazda with my VIN and they are lookin into all recall information for me.

did you have recall work done since august of last year or not. did you get letter(s) saying you needed work done?

I hate to hear people say "the flooding problem". It sounds like something that happens 2 or 3 times a day. 36K miles - never flooded. *knocks on wood*

LOL, the operator error problem
